What closing line value tells you
The closing line is the market's final, sharpest price before a game starts. If you consistently get better prices than the close, you're capturing value the market only recognised later — the strongest long-run signal that your bets are genuinely +EV.
By default this tool treats the closing price as fair, so your Expected Value mirrors the value you captured — exactly like a standard CLV calculator. Turn on “Remove the vig” and add the opposing closing odds to strip the book's margin out of the close for a stricter, no-vig read on your edge.
